Chris Brown

Chris Brown At the age of 6, Chris started playing the piano. Quickly falling in love with the piano, Chris started working on classical pieces of his own. In the midst of taking the usual piano lessons, Chris started studying with a Professor of Composition at a private college in his home town of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Realizing that this was a passion rather than a hobby, Chris started branching out of just learning the piano and picked up the drums. After a few years of learning the basics and playing along with CD's, he started playing and writing with a friend of his named, Josh Misener. They started working on some songs and recorded some demo's in Chris' basement and later formed the band, Caruso. Nearly two years later, they finished the recording project at a local professional studio and were ready to press their first album, "Two Steps Behind." Unfortunatley, Chris and his family had plans to move to Columbia, Missouri, before the album came back from being pressed. So, he never really got to play shows much with Caruso, and see the dream that Josh and himself had dreamt of for so long. But it was in Missouri when his musical dreams became even bigger. When Chris was 15, he and his family moved to Columbia, Missouri. He had already had experiences in writing music, but had not really worked on lyrics that much. But when he met a young lady from Missouri, all of that changed forever. He recorded his first song simply titled, "A Song For Suzanne." Playing, recording, and singing everything on the song, Chris was hesitant to show anybody his recording. But once it started getting positive feedback after it circled among his friends and family, he realized that this was what he was meant to do with his life. This was the beginning of his first indepedent project called, "With Words Concerned." His first album, "With Words Concerned," was released in May of 2003, took 3 years to make and was done entirely by himself throughout his high school years. As soon as he finished "With Words Concerned," he felt as if he had just thrown an album together, for the sake of throwing an album together. While he was proud of his accomplishment, he realized that he needed to work even harder than before. This hard work would later become an album entitled, "Subject to Change." The summer that "With Words Concerned" was released, Chris began writing once again. But this time around, he dug even deeper and did not settle for the ordinary. After hours of writing and recording, Chris recorded the first song for his next album, called "Daylight." It was at this point that Chris' writing took to a new level. He had matured over the years and it was evident through his music. Nearly two years later in May of 2005, he finished his second independent album called, "Subject To Change." All 11 songs on "Subject To Change," showcase a wide variety of musical style and much more of a maturity in his lyrics compared his "With Words Concerned" days. Now, at the age of 20, Chris is located in Nashville, Tennesse, where he is working hard on writing new songs and playing shows. There is no word yet on a new project, but with Chris, he is always in the process of a new project, whether he knows it, or not.
